We have an issue that’s affecting North Carolina’s public schools, and we need your help: Our children who attend public charter schools are being shortchanged by their local districts. That’s not fair.
Public charters are public schools, which means they receive state and local public funds for the children they teach. On average, our state’s public charter schools get less than 75 cents for every dollar given to traditional public schools.
This unfair funding model is denying our public charter schools over $30 million every year. Even more devastating is that these funds are withheld from over 90% of the children who attend public charter schools. Don’t these children also deserve fair funding for their education?
This is a matter of fairness and justice. Tell legislators that we need Fair Funding for All Public Schools in North Carolina.
